Not in Kansas anymore

Just a note about things in New Orleans that long ago convinced me I could never live in "that city." These things are the same slices of life that are pulling me toward the place I used to describe as "a nice place to visit, etc...."
I accompanied my daughter, Mandy, to her neighborhood library on St. Charles last month. While she checked on books to read, I meandered about the building and grounds. In addition to boasting a gorgeous, very old cerulean blue, muraled ceiling in one room, antique practically everything, the front entry easel carried a list of things one must not do in and must not bring into the library. Among the usual prohibitions against loud music, cell phone conversation, unaccompanied small children, food, drink, shirtless, shoeless patrons, etc., this ante-bellum mansion carried a warning I'll never see on a rules list at a Baton Rouge library: no one may bring sleeping bags and bedrolls into the Latter Library on St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans.
Whole new set of patrons here...not in Kansas anymore!
